I would think it would be hard to “strictly enforce” a curfew when the officers aren’t even on duty past midnight

I believe that the residents of Dassel would be better served having the officers making their presence known and patrolling for criminal activity rather than lurking about on foot in an attempt to catch curfew violators. I also believe that children should not be afraid of police presence and should know where the officers are so they feel they are approachable and available in time of need. And, if the children are playing in my yard after 10:30 pm I do not consider that a curfew violation and do not appreciate the deputies coming to send them home.

Perhaps post on this news log copies of both city’s curfew statutes. Both I believe have exceptions for youths going to/from work, recognized school activities, and church activities.

Are you a private detective? Police are supposed to make their presence known…not lurk around the neighborhoods…that is just creepy

And “youth” are defined as what age? Is this every night, or just school nights? I think we need a bit more info.
