After Saturday’s section performance of DC’s one-act, “After Magritte,” the team is heading to state to compete Thursday, Feb. 12. This is the second consecutive year DC will compete at state. “Congratulations to the kids . . . they did a great job,” said the show’s director, Dave Metcalf. “It’s a very difficult show. It entirely depends on hard core acting. They did a super job,” Metcalf added.
The competition will be at The O’Shaunghnessy of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul at approximately 4 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend. There will be eight of the best plays from across the state performing starting at 9 a.m. The cost for two shows is $5 or $15 for the whole day.
At state, no winner is declared rather schools star or they don’t, according to Metcalf. Last year, only three out of the eight schools starred including DC.
