Cokato woman hurt in McLeod Co. crash


COKATO, MN – A woman from Cokato was injured in a crash west of Glencoe Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The report stated that Brooke Christine Halonen, 20, of Cokato had been driving a 2005 Nissan Altima south on Minnesota Highway 22 at about 8:30 a.m. when her vehicle collided with a 2013 Freightliner straight truck traveling east on US Highway 212. The road condition was wet at the time.

The driver of the truck, Ibrahim Said Hassan, 21, of Minneapolis, sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was not transported to a healthcare facility, according to the report.

Halonen was taken to Glencoe Regional Health Services for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. She and Hassan were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The state patrol was assisted at the scene by Allina Ambulance, the Glencoe Fire Department, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
