Longtime KRWC sportscaster dies in motorcycle crash in French Lake Township

Update: The man who died in the motorcycle crash has been identified as Lyndon “Lyn” Lane Sheplee, longtime KRWC sportscaster.

COKATO, MN – A 64-year-old Cokato man has died following a motorcycle crash June 14 in French Lake Township around midnight, according to a report from Wright County Sheriff’s Office. The accident happened on Wright County  Road 35 West near Norling Ave NW in French Lake Township. Initial investigation indicates a 1983 Honda was west bound on County Road 35, west of Norling Ave NW when it lost control, according to the report. The driver, a 64-year-old Cokato man, was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office. The man’s name has not been released at this time.

    Very sad news. As an amateur baseball player the past 10+ years I have come to know and appreciate the great job Lyn did covering and announcing North Star League baseball. My condolences to his family, as he will be missed.
