Dassel City Council will discuss extending job offer of Public Works Director position during Tuesday’s meeting

DASSEL, MN – Dassel City Council will consider extending a job offer for the Public Works Director Position during their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Other subjects on the agenda include a motion to approve payment of claims as presented in the amount of $457,297.64, and revisiting the subject of the MN DOT Landscape Partnership Grant.

Dassel City Council’s upcoming special meetings

DASSEL, MN – Dassel City Council will have 2 special council meetings this week to do interviews for the Public Works Director position. The meetings are tonight at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday at 5:30 p.m..

DASSEL, MN – The Dassel Community Chess Board of Directors will conduct its annual meeting Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Dassel History Center.

The Snofest activity forms and money are due in the office by Thursday, Jan. 24.

The next free lunch for junior and senior high school students will be on Wed., Jan. 16 at City Hall sponsored by the Lions Club.

10th grade decorating committee:  We will be meeting for a half hour on the following dates:  January 14th @ 3:00 pm, January 17th @ 7:30 am, January 21st @ 3:00 pm, and January 23rd at 7:30 am, in Mrs. Scoblic’s room.  Thank you!

The school will be selling old sports uniforms at the 1/12/18 Girls’ and Boys’ basketball games.  They uniforms sill be sold for around $1.00 each so come and purchase one or more.

The following Juniors need to pay their class dues ASAP in order to participate in Snofest activities and future activities.  Please hand in your receipt to Ashley Forcier or Shelbea Schuette or give it to one of you advisors. Please see you advisors if you have any questions.

Local K of C to Sponsor Youth Free Throw Competition

All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2019 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition. The local competition will be held Sunday January 20th at 12:30. Sign up starts at 12:00 at the Winsted Holy Trinity High School Gym.

All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event.  Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. For entry forms or additional information contact Mike Bjork (612) 245-0011.

There will be open gym from noon-2 at LP on Sundays.

Friday, January 18th is the end of the second quarter and students will be dismissed at 11:30 that day.

Elementary students will eat lunch at school and high school students will not have lunch at school that day.

The Polka Lovers Klub of America would like to invite all Juniors and Seniors to the Pla-Mor Ballroom in Glencoe on Jan. 13 from 1-5 pm for an afternoon of music and dancing.  There’s no admission charge for you.

Prairie Archers Youth Archery League starts Saturday, January 12th and Sunday, January 13th  and runs for 12 weeks with the cost of $30.  Youth must be 7-18 years old and have their own archery equipment.  If you would like or need some archery instruction, there will be a 3-night intro session prior to the start of the league to get youth up and running.  These sessions will be on January 8, 10 and 11.
