COKATO, MN – Sunrise Diner in Cokato will be re-opening Saturday, March 9 at 6 a.m. under new ownership. Lisa Brantley took over the diner, which has been closed for about a year. The menu is completely remade, and ingredients are all purchased locally.

DASSEL, COKATO, MN – The DC School Board will be discussing staffing additions for the 2019-2020 school year during its meeting Monday, March 11. Other items on the agenda include discussion of a board scholarship and a website proposal.
DASSEL TOWNSHIP, MN – Deputy Kaylin Hare, 22, of Litchfield was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dassel Township Wednesday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Timothy Servin of Dassel was driving a GMC Sierra, and was traveling eastbound on 240th St., when his vehicle struck Hare, who was in a Ford Explorer squad traveling northbound on 730th Ave., turning onto 240th St. The view at the intersection was obstructed by a large snow bank and hill crest.
Hare was taken to HCMC to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Servin was uninjured, according to the state patrol.
Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Litchfield Police Department, and Dassel Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Dassel City Council will discuss extending job offer of Public Works Director position during Tuesday’s meeting
DASSEL, MN – Dassel City Council will consider extending a job offer for the Public Works Director Position during their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Other subjects on the agenda include a motion to approve payment of claims as presented in the amount of $457,297.64, and revisiting the subject of the MN DOT Landscape Partnership Grant.
