Kingston Lions fishing contest location changed

KINGSTON, MN – The Kingston Lions Club’s 24th annual fishing contest scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 4, has been moved to a new location due to the unsafe ice conditions on Lake Francis. The Kingston Lions will still host the event, minus the fishing, at the Kingston Community Center with concessions and door prizes awarded.

Funeral notice: Delbert ‘Delly’ Isaacson, 90, Dassel

Delbert “Delly” F. Isaacson, age 90, of Dassel, died Sunday, January 29, at the Lakeside Health Care Center of Dassel. A funeral service will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Steven Olson and Rev. John Peterson officiating. The interment will be at the Dassel Cemetery.

A visitation was Wednesday evening at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. There will be a one hour visit at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Kingston Lions fishing contest Saturday

KINGSTON, MN – The Kingston Lions Club is hosting its 24th annual fishing contest Saturday, Feb. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. on the northwest side of Lake Francis.
The cost is $5 per person to fish. Door prizes and drawings will be given out.

DC PTA meeting Thursday

DASSEL-COKATO, MN – Dassel-Cokato PTA meeting, Thursday, Feb. 2, 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the high school media center.
Middle School Dean of Students Alisa Johnson will join us to inform the community about Professional Learning Communities, an on-going program in which the teachers and school administrators continuously seek and share learning and act on what they learn.

Grochow Family Feud tonight

If you missed the Grochow Family of Dassel last night on the Family Feud, they will be on again tonight on the CW-Twin Cities (check local listings) at 6 p.m.

One-act performance Thursday

DASSEL-COKATO, MN – After receiving third place at subsections in Delano Saturday, Dassel-Cokato One-Act will not be competing at section finals this weekend. However, a free public performance will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. See story for details of the play.
