Dassel coach watches former student go for gymnastics gold at the Olympics

Dale Bullivant has lived in Dassel for 26 years. He is the father of five, who all attended Dassel-Cokato Schools, and he even coached little league baseball for several years as his children were growing up. Bullivant is also the boys team director and gymnastics head coach for North Shore Gymnastics Association, located in Maple Plain.

DC grad publishes article in teaching journal

Dassel-Cokato High School graduate Beth Keskey, who for the past six years has taught life science and earth science at Dassel-Cokato Middle School, recently published an original article, titled “Finding the Pulse of Nature through Guided Inquiry in Nature-Based Citizen Science,” in Kaleidoscope. The publication is a journal of the Knowles Teacher Initiative that shares stories from teachers about teaching, leading, and learning.

Search for new Dassel public works director continues

The City of Dassel is already three months into the search for its next public works director and it is becoming increasingly hard to find qualified candidates. The last time the city went searching for a public works director, that search took six months. Recently, the council conducted interviews with an internal applicant and two external applicants. The council offered the position to one of the applicants, but they turned down the offer without further negotiation. The council discussed its next moves in the hiring process at its meeting Monday night.

Dasselrocks great summer hunt

Former Dassel City Council member Lynn Hollaran passed away Sunday, Jan. 3. She left a legacy as a person who was artistic, she enjoyed spending time drawing, painting, decorating, and playing the piano, according to friends and family. She also loved the City of Dassel and helped to solve its problems and improve the city for all as part of the city council.
