COKATO, MN – Ring in the New Year with the Cokato Historical Society by attending the 20th Annual New Year’s Open House on Sunday, January 5, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Centennial Room of the library/museum building. The event is FREE and open to the public!
Everyone is welcome to drop in and enjoy a demonstration of the Finnish New Year custom of “melting tin,” and discover what the upcoming year will bring.
DASSEL, MN – The Dassel City Council will present its annual truth in taxation public hearing Monday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The regular city council meeting will follow at 7 p.m., during which the council will hear a request for a charitable gambling license and a request for funding from Home to Roost. Other items on the agenda include a public hearing on the 2020 improvement project, 2020 enterprise fund budgets, and an annual review from the city clerk.
There will also be an EDA meeting at 5 p.m., and a special council meeting at 5:30 p.m.
WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – Attention Wright County residents – election judges are needed to help administer elections in Wright County. Election judges are temporary, paid employees trained to handle all aspects of voting at the polling place on election day. Being an election judge provides an opportunity to learn more about the election process and to serve the Wright County community.
To serve as an election judge, one must:
Be eligible to vote in Minnesota and be able to read, write, and speak English.
Complete Election Judge training course(s)
Be appointed by the city or township in which you will serve
Students 16 & 17 years-old can be Election Judge Trainees

- March 3, 2020 – Presidential Nominating Primary (PNP) election
- March 10, 2020 – March township elections
- August 11, 2020 – State Primary election
- November 3, 2020 – State General election
