COKATO, MN - The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 following World War I as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness, according the non-profit service organization’s web site. There are currently 3 million members with 71 of those being in Cokato. Members of the Cokato Legion Post #209 and Auxiliary will celebrate tonight with a potluck supper during their monthly meeting at city hall.
