DASSEL, MN – Sunday’s scheduled 2 p.m. piano recital featuring former students of the late Louise Guhl has been relocated from Gethsemane Lutheran Church to the Dassel Covenant Church.
DASSEL, MN – An open house reception for Natalie Davis, Miss Minnesota, will be at the Dassel History Center Monday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. with a short program at 2:30 p.m.
WRIGHT COUNTY, MN – Wright County students enrolled in criminal justice programs are encouraged to apply for the 2011 Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association’s (MSA) law enforcement scholarship program, announced Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty.
There are up to 15 - $600 scholarships available for 2011 - 2012. Deadline for applications is Saturday, Oct. 15th.
Scholarships are only available to students currently enrolled in one of the following three categories:
- Mandated POST Skills Program
- In their second year of a two-year law enforcement program.
- In their 3rd year of a four-year law enforcement program.
Students meeting these criteria are invited to obtain a scholarship application form and instructions online at http://www.mnsheriffs.org/. If students have further questions, feel free to contact Sheriff Hagerty at (763) 682-7616.
COKATO, MN – The Village Ranch of Cokato is opening a new transitions program in Hutchinson at 851 Dale Street. An open house will take place Thursday, Sept 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served and people will have the opportunity to “check the house out.”

Early deadlines are in effect for the Labor Day holiday due to the press schedule. Ads and copy for the newspaper are due at noon Wednesday, Aug. 31.
