‘Get More From Your Shoreline’ workshop Saturday in Dassel

DASSEL, MN – Big Swan Lake Improvement Association is hosting a free “Get More From Your Shoreline” workshop at the Dassel History Center Saturday, June 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Then, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. there will be a demonstration for planting native vegetation on Big Swan Lake.

The workshop is presented by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Crow River Organization of Water and will include classroom training on “lakescaping,” technical assistance on erosion control, shoreland plants, animals and fish.

Dassel community Memorial Day hymn sing Sunday

DASSEL, MN – The Dassel Ministerial Association will host the Dassel community Memorial Day hymn sing Sunday, May 29 beginning at 7 p.m. with refreshments to follow.

Tickets on sale for Twins game June 9; 4th annual Mikey Morgan Night

A bus will be leaving from Holt Motors for the Twins vs Texas Rangers game Thursday, June 9 as part of the fourth annual Mikey Morgan Night.
The late Mikey Morgan, a son of Lee Dahlquist’s good friend, was killed in a car accident five years ago.
The pre-game event will take place at the Farmers’ Market Annex’s Urban Garden, 200 East Lyndale Ave. N, Minneapolis.
A silent auction to benefit the Mikey Morgan Scholarship Fund at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in honor of Mikey Morgan, will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. with more than 200 items, including multiple autographed Twins memorabilia.
There will also be musical entertainment during that time.
Tickets for the event, including admission to the game and dinner buffet, are $60.
The game is at 7:10 p.m. at Target Field.
The bus will leave from Holt Motors in Cokato at 3 p.m. sharp. Tickets are limited.

Benefit set for Cokato family who lost home in fire

HOWARD LAKE, MN – A benefit has been set for the Suzie Slinden family who lost their home during a fire in Cokato this past April. The benefit will be Friday, May 27 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Howard Lake Legion. The benefit will include food from 5 to 7 p.m., silent auction from 7 to 9 p.m. and live music by Jewel and Barefoot Boogie beginning at 9 p.m.

Deadline is Wednesday for graduation open house listings for next week’s edition

DASSEL, COKATO, MN – Due to early deadlines that are in effect for the Memorial Day holiday, the deadline for graduation listings to be published Monday, May 30, are noon Wednesday, May 25. Stop in and complete the open house graduation form to have your event listed.

Cokato blood drive today
