Pork chop feed Friday in Cokato

COKATO, MN – Cokato Lions will host its annual pork chop feed Friday, April 29 at the Cokato Elementary from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 per adult, extra chops can be purchased with your meal for $2 a piece. Youth age 12 and under can have a youth meal (hot dog, chips, beans, drink) for $3. Everyone is welcome to help support local projects.

Donations still accepted for Rotary rummage sale

The Cokato Dassel Rotary Club will host a rummage sale fundraiser Saturday, April 30 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the city-wide garage sale.
The event will take place at Cokato City Hall and will include a variety of donated goods.
The community is encouraged to drop off donations for the rummage sale Friday, April 29 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cleanup in Kingston and Kingston Township Saturday

KINGSTON, MN – The city of Kingston and Kingston Township will host a cleanup day Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center.

Vehicle batteries, scrap metal, and washer and dryer will be disposed of at no charge.

Tires:$2 or $10 for tractor and heavy truck.

Mattresses or boxsprings:$15, computer or laptop:$8, monitor:$8, printers and scanners: $5, copy machine without toner:$25. Televisions range from $6 to $15 and appliances are $10. No fluorescent bulbs and no paint or hazardous materials accepted.

The Easter bunny visits Dassel for an Easter egg hunt

holmquist.halleDASSEL, MN – Halle Holmquist received help from her mom, Becca, hunting for Easter eggs in Dassel at the Meeker Memorial Clinic’s Easter egg hunt April 23.

The Easter bunny was on hand to visit with kids while their pictures were taken.

DC School Board meeting Thursday at 7 p.m.

DASSEL, COKATO, MN – The Dassel-Cokato School Board will meet Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in the board room at DC High School.

Items on the agenda include:

  • first reading of a new fund balance policy;
  • resolutions relating to the termination  and non-renewal of teaching contracts for probationary teachers Joe Brennan, Erin Holbrook, Amy Martinson, Matt Hogg, and Eric Sawatzke; and,
  • approval of the math scope, sequence and materials.
