Recent traffic deaths prompt increase in law enforcement

In the past week, traffic crashes have claimed the lives of more than a dozen young people, many of which were teens, according to Michael Campion, public safety commissioner.

He asks that law enforcement officers check the issuance date during all traffic stops since provisional licenses and graduated drivers licenses have restrictions on night time driving and the number of passengers.

“We can save lives and prevent these needless deaths,” Campion said.
