Sign up for third annual Upper Midwest Model T Snowmobile Rally

COKATO, MN – The Cokato Historical Society will host the third annual Upper Midwest Model T Snowmobile Rally Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 16 – 17 in Peterson Park, across the street from the Cokato Museum at the corner of Fourth Street and Millard Ave., in downtown Cokato.
Hours will be Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 3 p.m. There is no admission charge.

Community Theatre production to be “Diary of Anne Frank”

DASSEL–COKATO, MN – The Dassel-Cokato Community Theatre production, “The Diary of Anne Frank,” co-produced by the Dassel-Cokato Arts Association and Dassel-Cokato Community Education will be presented Friday, March 19 through Friday, March 26.
Auditions for roles in the production are set for Thursday, Jan. 28, 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.

School board to vote on logo at Jan. 28 meeting

DASSEL-COKATO, MN – The Dassel-Cokato School Board decided it would take action on the new logo voted on by the DC students at its January regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28.

Cokato Historical Society to host tin melting Sunday

COKATO, MN – The Cokato Museum and Historical Society will host its 10th annual New Year’s Eve open house, Sunday, Jan. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Centennial Room of the library/museum building.
Tin melting is a staple in many Finnish households on New Year’s Eve. Participants melt small pieces of tin over a stove in a cast-iron lathe, then cast the melted tin into a pail of cold water where it takes unique form. Traditions hold that these shapes will foretell what the upcoming year will bring.

Mystery Photo of the Week for Dec. 28

ed-myst-1228MYSTERY, MN – The Enterprise Dispatch web site is hosting a weekly Internet mystery photo contest in which a photo is taken of something in the area.
Anyone who correctly guesses the identity of the photo is added to a monthly drawing for a free subscription to the newspaper.

Go ahead and guess! Those who guess correctly first receive bragging rights.
