New BNI officers finish training

Rory Wallace, with Lundeen Interiors in Cokato; Tim Haas, owner of Haas Consulting in Hutchinson; and Dean Perry, president of the State Bank of Cokato in Cokato recently completed a training program sponsored by Business Networking International (BNI), to prepare them for their leadership roles within the organization.

BNI is an international networking group designed to help local businesses work together to promote each otherʼs businesses through referrals. Power Partners is the name of the local BNI chapter, with membership that covers area communities, including Hutchinson, Cokato, Dassel, and Litchfield. They meet weekly at the Dassel Area Historical Society. Rory Wallace has been appointed as president of the group, with Tim Haas as vice-president, and Dean Perry as secretary/treasurer.

Teen Challenge choir to be at Gethsemane Nov.

chDASSEL, MN –  Gethsemane Lutheran Church will host the Minnesota Teen Challenge Choir in a free performance Sunday Nov. 29.

H1N1 vaccine available at Hutchinson Medical Center starting today

McLEOD COUNTY, MN – The H1N1 vaccine is now available by appointment for established Hutchinson Medical Center (HMC) patients. Because of limited quantities, not everyone is eligible for the vaccine at this time.

DC School Happenings

Veterans Day program at DCHS Nov. 11
The Dassel-Cokato High School/Middle School will host a Veterans Day program Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to attend this ceremony in the east gym. Visitors should park in the Performing Arts Center parking lot.
No school Friday, Nov. 13 for kindergarten only

Kindergarten conferences will be Friday, Nov. 13. There is no school for kindergarten students that day.
Elementary conferences set for Nov. 16, 19
Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled for Monday and Thursday, Nov. 16 and 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at both Dassel and Cokato elementary schools.
No school Nov. 20 for elementary only
There will be no school  for elementary grades only Friday, Nov. 20 for teacher planning and elementary conferences, which will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
No school Nov. 26, 27 for Thanksgiving
There will be no school for Dassel-Cokato Schools Thursday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 27 for Thanksgiving vacation.

Tickets available Friday for ‘Little Women’

DASSEL-COKATO, MN – Tickets for the fall musical “Little Women” go on sale Friday, Oct. 30 and can be purchased in the high school activities office.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13; Saturday, Nov. 14; and Saturday, Nov. 21 with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Performing Arts Center.

Mystery Photo of the Week for Oct. 26

mysteryed1026MYSTERY, MN – The Enterprise Dispatch web site is hosting a weekly Internet mystery photo contest in which a photo is taken of something in the area.
Anyone who correctly guesses the identity of the photo is added to a monthly drawing for a free subscription to the newspaper.

Go ahead and guess! Those who guess correctly first receive bragging rights.
