DASSEL, MN - The Dassel Area Historical Society will host its 13th annual New England pot roast dinner Thursday, Oct. 1, 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Dassel Evangelical Covenant Church.
Tickets are $8 adults; $4.50 children 3-11; and children under 3, free.
Menu includes roast beef, potatoes, carrots, gravy, coleslaw, homemade bread, dessert, and beverage.

HUTCHINSON, MN — A police officer has been fired and another suspended for one week without pay in Hutchinson over unrelated circumstances, reported WCCO.
Officer Shelly Schmidt was a probationary officer and was told Friday she was fired, according to Hutchinson Police Chief Dan Hatten. While off duty, Schmidt was convicted of trespassing in a field as a passenger in a vehicle, Hatten told WCCO. The radio station KDUZ further noted that the vehicle was Schmidt’s vehicle. More details about the circumstances are reported by KDUZ.
Officer Jason Pederson was told Tuesday he’ll be suspended without pay for 40 hours. He is a six-year veteran of the force, according to KDUZ. Hatten says Pederson’s penalty is due to conduct unbecoming a police officer. Further details were not forthcoming.

COKATO, MN - Brooks Lake Area Association is having an end of season meeting Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park (commonly called Legion Park) on the shores of Brooks Lake in the heart of Cokato.
The association will be addressing water quality test results, some exciting opportunities including upcoming projects and grants, and needs input on setting goals for the next two years.

Adult tickets are $7, and children age 10 and under $5; extra chop $2.
