HUTCHINSON, MN –The Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association will have its annual ecumenical service honoring fallen officers on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at 2:00 PM. The service will be at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Your attendance is encouraged, but for anyone unable to do so, KDUZ AM 1260 will broadcast the service live. The audio of the service will also be available on the KDUZ website, www.kduz.com.

ANNANDALE, MN – Twenty employees of Lakedale Telephone Company (Lakedale Communications) were notified Friday that their jobs are being eliminated. Lakedale, a subsidiary of Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc., (Iowa Telecom) announced the reductions are the result of overlapping duties and operational synergies between the Annandale office and other offices operated by Iowa Telecom, which merged with Lakedale last year. Give it a try; don’t be shy
Anyone who correctly guesses the identity of the photo is added to a monthly drawing for a free subscription to the newspaper (it must be given to a new subscriber or someone whose subscription has lapsed). Go ahead and guess! Those who guess correctly first receive bragging rights only.
