Candidates sought for Wright County ADA programs

The Wright County American Dairy Association is seeking candidates for its 2009 Dairy Princess and Ambassador programs.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

Deadline for SMAHC grants approaching

The deadline for Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council Arts and Learning Grants is Wednesday, April 1 (Round 2), for projects starting after Monday, June 1.  The Arts and Learning grant program is open to schools, communities, and non-profit organizations in the 18 counties of Southwest Minnesota served by SMAHC.  This program provides matching grants to schools, organizations, and communities for artist residencies and field trips.
The Arts and Learning, and Individual Artist workshops scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26. Continue reading ‘Deadline for SMAHC grants approaching’

Elementary art work on display at Cokato DC Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Dassel Elementary students will be proudly displaying some of their artwork at the Cokato Dairy Queen Wednesdays, February 11 and 25. Cokato Elementary students’ artwork is showing Feb. 4 and Feb. 18. Stop in between the hours of 5 to 8 p.m. and 15 percent of the profits during that time will be donated to the schools.

babST. CLOUD, MN – Oscar Raiden Torola was born June 12.  He weighed 5 lbs 13 oz. and 18.5 inches long.

The Wright County American Dairy Association is Seeking Candidates for its 2009 Dairy Princess and Ambassador Programs. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

A Wright County Dairy Princess must be a High School Graduate and not yet 24 years old by July 1, 2009. A GED is acceptable. A Wright County Dairy Ambassador must be enrolled in either the tenth or eleventh grade in School. In both programs you or your parents or guardians must be actively engaged in the production of milk for sale to a licensed plant at some time during the current year (2009). Kautz benefit is success, courtesy of its volunteers

kautzLittle 2-year-old Madison Kautz returned Jan. 17 to her home in Cokato, taking a short break from her rounds of chemo, which are required for treatment of brain cancer.  A benefit conducted in Silver Lake Oct. 25 rallied the community behind the toddler.
“I believe that all involved would say that the benefit went great, and was a huge success,” commented Madison’s mother Amber Kautz, who is a 2004 Dassel-Cokato graduate.  Continue reading ‘Kautz benefit is success, courtesy of its volunteers’
