Slide show of Santa’s visit to DC

Santa visited Dassel Dec. 20 at the Dassel Fire Hall, hosted by the Dassel Fire Department and its auxiliary, as well as the Dassel Chamber of Commerce. He visited Cokato Dec. 6 at the Early Childhood center located at the Community Education building on the west side of the DC school complex. It was sponsored by the DC Early Childhood program and the Cokato Chamber of Commerce. Below is a slide show of Santa’s visit (Dassel first, then Cokato)

Santa gets help from Dassel 4-H’ers

The  Dassel Lamplighters 4-H Club recently donated toys for a Silent Santa program. Volunteers display a sample of the toys donated.

No school for all DC grades Dec. 24- Jan. 4

There will be no school for all grades Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Sunday, Jan. 4 for winter break. Classes resume Monday, Jan. 5, 2009.

Local students graduate from college

Several local students graduated from Minnesota State University in Mankato during commencement exercises at the Taylor Centor on the MSM campus Dec. 13. Ashley Danielson of Cokato majored in physical education (teaching) and school health education, earned bachelor of science degrees, and graduated magna cum laude. Becky Kelly of Cokato majored in interior design, earned a bachelor of science degree, and graduated cum laude. Michael Strey of Dassel majored in mass communications, and earned a bachelor of arts degree.

Laestadian Christmas program set for Sun., Dec. 21

The Laestadian Lutheran Church of Cokato will present its Sunday school Christmas program Sunday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of the Dassel-Cokato High School.
The event is open to the public and free of charge.
