Super delegate Nancy Larson off to the DNC

I looked on the Star Tribune web site today — lo and behold, there was Dassel’s own Nancy Larson. I had the opportunity to interview Larson before the primaries last fall. At the time she was undecided as to whom – if it came down to it – she would vote for at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Clinton or Obama. The photo almost assumes that Larson is upset that Clinton is no longer in the presidential race, but there is no comment from Larson in the story regarding her feelings for the upcoming election. Her neighbor in the photo, Jackie Stevenson (a delegate also from Minnesota), did say “We are all going to be working to elect Obama president.” Larson and Stevenson were shown applauding Senator Amy Klobuchar during a speech at the DNC Monday.

What did you think of movie night?

According to the numbers, the Cokato Chamber of Commerce first ever movie night turned out to be quite the hit with approximately 450 to 500 people gathered in Peterson Park to watch the movie “Cars” last Saturday (Aug. 23). The idea was brought to the chamber this past spring by Wayne Murphy and Steve Dietman. Vendors including Dan Lemke’s Sunny Road ice cream and K and K Fun Time and Party Time tent rental had a large bouncer on hand for the kids to have fun in before the movie began. Also prior to the movie Ben Brandt along with his band played for the audience. There are talks of another movie night next summer, maybe even three – one each month of summer, according to Dietman. For those who attended, what are your thoughts and recommendations?
