Army National Guard soldier Nic Raduenz of Litchfield recently sent in a picture from his second tour of duty, which he is currently serving.
He refers to it as a great place to spend on a vacation and reports the weather being warm.

Bev Bipes won first place as the first to correctly identify last week’s Internet Mystery Photo as the Twine Ball museum in Darwin. Lois Anderson of Dassel is the winner of the free subscription for February.
OK, it wasn’t quite the zoo, but I did get to see little critters I don’t normally get to see everyday. Today, Cokato Elementary had some tiny, and not so tiny, visitors to help teach how teasing is not so fun to be around. Among the animals were a hedge hog, porcupine, and iguana. I felt bad becuase when the porcupine was let out of the cage, a little girl began cry. She was scared of the big, black, furry, ball. The speaker, Greg Olson, joked that the one thing you should never do is hug a porcupine. Ouch! Although hard to see, the porcupine is eating an animal cracker.
The Dassel-Cokato Spring Team meetings will be Monday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. The participant (grades 7-12), along with a parent, is required to attend and receive information from his/her coach regarding their individual activity. Continue reading ‘Spring sports eligibility/team meetings’
