COKATO, MN – The music-driven history of African-American women is brought to life through the play, Daughters of Africa. The Cokato Public Library will host this event Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Centennial Room.
The play features music by Ma Rainey, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and portrays historical African-American women such as Harriet Tubman, Lena Horne, Rosa Parks, and many others.
Pre-registration is encouraged, but the event is free.
