Donations are being gathered by NHS, Lester Prairie bank for LP family

llpLESTER PRAIRIE, MN — Lester Prairie residents Mike and Kim Schauer lost their home to a fire March 7, and community members are coming together to help the family through this difficult time.

Jeff Engen, vice president of First Community Bank  of Lester Prairie, said Wednesday that a fund has been set up at the bank to collect donations.
People can mail donations or drop them off at the bank.

Donations should be marked, “Mike and Kim Schauer Fire Fund,” c/o First Community Bank, 500 Central Ave., PO Box 128, Lester Prairie, MN 55354.
Lester Prairie school counselor Christine Mattson announced that the Lester Prairie National Honor Society will also be raising funds for the family.

Members of the National Honor Society will be placing containers in local businesses in Lester Prairie, Winsted, Howard Lake, and Silver Lake, Mattson said.
“All donations are greatly appreciated,” she added.

Mattson said the Lester Prairie Lions will match any funds that the National Honor Society raises, up to $400. More information is available by calling Mattson at the Lester Prairie School, (320) 395-3002.
