Death of a child is a waste

The tragedy in Newtown, CT still makes me sick and brings tears to my eyes. As the president said, these children will never celebrate their graduation, their wedding, or other life events. This and other recent horrible events were apparently carried out by individuals that were unstable and uncaring.
I would like to think that our president, governor, supreme court, and most of our doctors are stable and caring. If that is so, why do they approve of and/or participate in ending the lives of over 4,000 children each day since the Rose vs. Wade decision? Children that will never even celebrate their first birthday.
