The deadline for SMAHC arts and learning grants is Wednesday, Oct. 1. (Round I) for projects starting Monday, Dec. 1 or after. The next deadline will not be until April 1, 2009 (round II) for projects starting June 1, 2009 or after.
The arts and learning grant program is open to all schools and non-profit organizations in the eighteen counties of Southwest Minnesota served by SMAHC. This program provides matching grants to schools, organizations, and communities for artist residencies and field trips.
Applicants may apply for up to $2,500 for artist residencies, up to $750 for pre-packaged theatre residencies, and up to $600 for field trips. Each school or organization is limited to $2,500 in arts in learning grant funds per year.

The program provides up to $500 to artists of all ages and disciplines to engage in quality study opportunities. Some possibilities for individual artist study opportunity projects include professional mentorship, workshops, camps, or classes. This grant program is for artists in any stage of their career.

SMAHC is the designated regional arts council for eighteen counties (Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Swift, and Yellow Medicine) of southwest Minnesota. The organization provides financial and technical assistance to non-profit organizations and schools interested in sponsoring or producing arts activities, as well as offering grants to individual artists.
