Cut spending or increase taxes?

How about, first, just diverting what we (governments) spend?
Here, in Minnesota, we have spent more than $18 million on abortions since the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled we must pay for Medicaid abortions as long as we pay for Medicaid live births.
In the year 2010 (latest available figures), we paid for 3,757 abortions, costing $1.4 million.
Instead, let’s spend that $18 million on mental health treatment.
Abortions are advocated as “reproductive health.” Reproductive health that ends a human life.
Wouldn’t mental health treatment be a greater good? Our tax money could be enhancing life, instead of ending it.
