It is that time of year again… 5 days that mark summer as more than half over.
It is a tradition where I work for one of our employees to take an adventure and fill lunch orders at the Wright County Fair, as he announced at Friday’s staff meeting that this week would be County Fair time and he would again be taking orders.
This got me thinking of Fair fare. For example the State Fair offers everything from Alligator to Zeppoles. While the Wright County Fair may not have as many choices to offer, one can surely indulge their sinful eating anyway.
I ponder how many foods they can stick on a stick. Sticks aren’t just for corndogs anymore ya know. Don’t fret though, you will still find them at the Fair, along with Gyros, Funnel cakes, pork chops, mini doughnuts, burgers, fries, corn on the cob, pizza, cheese curds, candied apples, cotton candy, malts, shaved ice, kettle corn… You get the idea.
While it may not be healthy, at least it is only a few days during a summer that I hope is packed with many memories. One of which, I hope, is not getting sick after eating your Fair fare.
Curiosity makes me ask though- What is your favorite Fair food?

I forgot to say my favorite use to be the cheese curds. But I can no longer eat yummy fried stuff like that.
Do they have fruit or veggies there I wonder?
Hey Cher
In response to your question about fair food……I too like the cheese curds that I too can no longer eat. I’d have to say my favorite fair food is the mini donuts. Ugh, those are bad for me too - but I have to have just one bag each year. Instead of the choc malts I used to eat, I have replaced them with water!
Enjoy the fair everyone!
