MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A Winsted second grader got the thrill of a lifetime when he was picked randomly from the crowd during a Twins game at Target field Tuesday to bring out the ball for the first pitch.
Cody Dickhausen, 8, of Winsted is an avid baseball fan who has been to the Dome many times, he said. However, this was his first trip to Target field. “I was a Target Ball Kid,” he said with quiet pride. It took only a few minutes, but he was able to bring the first ball and rosin bag out to Twins pitcher Kevin Slowey. He received a blue Twins cap for his trouble, too. Check out the video below for a clip of the momentous occasion. Dickhausen is a second grader at Winsted Elementary.
