Chili cook-off at Baylor Park Oct. 14

Carver County Parks is hosting its 14th annual chili cook-off at Baylor Regional Park in Norwood Young American Saturday, Oct. from noon to 2:30 p.m.
Participating in the event requires either a camping reservation or submission of a chili into the contest.
There are 50 camping sites at the Baylor campgrounds for RVs, campers, and tents. Those with camping reservations that weekend can attend the event for free.
Everyone is encouraged to enter their chili for the chance to win a prize, including trophies, a weekend camping package, shelter reservation voucher, annual vehicle pass, outdoor cooking-related supplies, and more.
Bowls, spoons, napkins, and meal fixings will be provided, however, each chili entered will require a roaster pan or crockpot, extension cord, and serving spoon.
Along with prizes for first, second, and third, there will also be winners in the categories of “Hottest Chili,” “Most Unique,” and the “People’s Choice.”
In addition to the annual cook-off, tractor hay rides, pumpkins, and a s’mores bonfire will also be available to those in attendance from 1 to 2:30 p.m., after the awards have been announced.
