Chargers hold off second-half Dragons rally, improve to 6-1

COKATO — Trailing 14-7 at half, the visiting Litchfield Dragons put a scare into the Chargers faithful with a 10 minute, 32-second touchdown drive to start the second half, tying the game at 14-14.

However, both the DC offense and defense rallied from that point, and DC escaped with a 28-14 victory.

Tate Link continued his torrid pace in 2022, rushing 34 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns.

DC quarterback Caleb Thinesen ran for a score, and hit a wide-open Markus Ailie for another.

The Chargers outgained Litchfield 316-229 for the game.

Litchfield’s Lukas Kuehl had 30 carries for 127 yards and a touchdown. Garrison Jackman went 13-18 for 79 yards, and a touchdown to Tait Christensen.

The Chargers improved to 6-1, while Litchfield fell to 3-4.
