Man killed in rollover near Silver Lake

A 54-year-old Silver Lake man died in a one-vehicle rollover crash Sunday evening, Feb. 26, west of Silver Lake.

The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) said Dean Christopherson was driving a 2010 Jeep Liberty eastbound on Highway 7, when it left the roadway near 190th street and rolled. MSP said the road conditions were dry at the time of the crash and the air bags in the vehicle did deploy.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m.

MSP said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

Online edition available early Thursday, Feb. 23, print edition delayed by one day

Due to the impending weather, Herald Journal Publishing has decided to release the online versions of our weekly newspapers early Thursday, Feb. 23.

So if you subscribe to the Herald Journal, Delano Herald Journal, or the Enterprise Dispatch, you will soon be able to spend your time curled up at home with a warm blanket, reading all of the great stories we have for you.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, the print copy of the newspaper will be delayed by one day. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Our offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 23, and reopen Friday, Feb. 24.

Winsted to conduct new city administrator search

The Winsted City Council, during Tuesday’s meeting, authorized staff to re-post the city administrator position. David Drown Associates has been conducting the search on behalf of the city. The company will conduct a new search and administer the hiring process at no additional cost to the city.
