Blacklight Dance after the game- cost is $3 and Patrick Keil is DJing!
Wear white OR neon colors to the dance and you will glow under the blacklights!

The guest list for the SnoFest Dance on Friday, Feb. 17th is in the office. You must sign up your out of school
guests.

The Jr. Cheerleaders will be performing at the SnoFest Coronation on Monday, Feb. 13th. Jr. Cheerleaders
should be in the library by 6:30 on Monday and should be dressed in black t-shirts and black pants with tennis
shoes. If they have a black cheer camp t-shirt from a previous year they can wear that. They should have their
hair in a ponytail or pigtails, if possible. They will also cheer on Thursday, Feb. 16th at halftime of the boys
varsity basketball game. Game time is 7:30. Jr. Cheerleaders will not have to pay to get in to the game, but a
supervising adult will have to pay. If you have any questions, please call Jill Fiecke at 320-894-7326.

The high school band will be playing for snofest coronation on Monday (Feb. 13) night. Please be in the band
room by 6:50 pm.

Juniors: Those who sold pizza are invited to our pizza party on Tuesday, February 14th. Please pay $4.00 to
Morgan by Mon., Feb. 13th. The party will be during Sr. Lunch in Ms. Olson’s Room. Bring your own drink.

The library needs your help! 2 workdays have been set to finish organizing the library. Join us on Sunday,
February 12th from 4:30-7:30pm and Monday, February 20th from 6-9pm. We need as many volunteers as we
can get!

There is a Track & Field sign-up sheet in the office.

There will be an Elementary Student Council meeting on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1:00 in the FCS Room.

The LA8 students will attend The Diary of Anne Frank play on Tuesday, Feb. 28 for the school day.

LP Foundation for Education – BULLDOG BASH!! The date is set – March 31, 2012. Invites and tickets will

Twenty LPHS students will be heading to Sawyer AFB in Gwinn, Michigan this summer for a mission trip.
They will be hosting a Valentine’s Dinner on Sunday, February 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Pauls
Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the dinner. All proceeds
will go to help fund this Mission Trip. LPHS students that will be going on this Mission Trip are Alex Kaluza,
Krista Lange, Miranda Buesing, Jacob Paschke, Morgan Roush, Ryan Quast, Peyton Thiry, Zach Roth, Nick
Machemehl, Spencer Radtke, Alex Heigl, Taylor Ziermann, Danielle Lohse, Courtney Scoblic, Emily Schnaer,
Hannah Litzau, Caleb Sebora, Nicole Trettin, Jacob Roth and Mitchell Roth. The trip is being put together by
Jenna Countrymann, DCE at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. The trip will be led by Jenna and her
husband, Brad. We appreciate any help and support for our trip. Come treat your sweetheart to a good meal!
The McLeod County East Dollars for Scholars Chowmein Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012
from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the LP School Cafeteria. The dinner includes Chicken Chowmein over Crisp
Noodles, Egg Roll, White Rice, Ice Cream, Fortune Cookie and Beverage. The cost is $6.00 for adults and
$4.50 for children under 12. This year the Dollars for Scholars will award 13 scholarships totaling $14,000 for
2012 graduating seniors. Please come and stay after dinner and support the Bulldog Basketball Team!
The Lester Prairie School is participating in the Pennies for Patients campaign for the Leukemia Lymphoma
Society. Our school goal is to raise $2012 to help benefit Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s research of childhood
Cancer. We are helping stop childhood cancer one penny at a time. This weeks class totals are:

Snofest Activity Day is Wednesday, February 15th. All students who have time to make up, have an outstanding
detention, or have unpaid class dues may not participate in Activity Day. Students in grades 6-12 who have 2 or
more F’s may not participate in Activity Day unless the F’s are cleared by Tuesday, February 14th at 8:30 a.m.
Also if you have one F and outstanding homework you may not participated unless it is cleared by 8:30 a.m. on
Tuesday, Feb. 14th. Teachers will submit ineligible student names to Mr. McNulty on the morning of Tuesday,
February 14th. Ineligible students will be assigned to teachers at school during Activity Day on Wednesday,
February 15th. Students should sign-up in the office for Activity Day by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10. All
permission slips and money must be turned in to the office by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13. Permission

come true for all of them. They would have the freedom of no more finger
pokes, insulin injections, carb. counting, and worry of all the devastating
complications such as heart disease, kidney and nerve damage, and blindness.
JDRF is committed to finding a Cure for the sake of both children and adults.

One-Act: Mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday from 3:15 until we get done to clean up costumes and
makeup. Please let Mrs. Buckentin know as soon as possible if you can’t be there so that you can schedule
another time to do your part in cleaning backstage!

Financial Aid Night for Seniors and their parents will be held TONIGHT at 7:00 p.m. in the Lester Prairie
Media Center.

Thank you to the 10th graders that came to help with decorations last night!! It was great to see so many there~
We will be setting up at 5:30 on Monday night, so will need you there to set up prior to Coronation and tear

Congratulations to our 2012 SnoFest Candidates. Coronation will be held on Monday, Feb. 13 at 7:00 p.m.

We will be announcing the “Junior Ambassador for a Day” on Friday, Feb 10th at 8:20 am at the LPS.

The two girls chosen will come to the office at that time to be crowned, for pictures and to receive some prizes.

There will be pep band for Thursday’s game. Please be in the band room at 6:55pm.

The high school band will be playing for snofest coronation on Monday (Feb. 13) night. Please be in the band room by 6:50 pm.

Financial Aid Night for Seniors and their parents will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lester Prairie Media Center.

The next free lunch will be on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012.

LP Foundation for Education – BULLDOG BASH!! The date is set – March 31, 2012. Invites and tickets will be out soon. Please watch for further information regarding this great event.

The McLeod County East Dollars for Scholars Chowmein Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the LP School Cafeteria. The dinner includes Chicken Chowmein over Crisp Noodles, Egg Roll, White Rice, Ice Cream, Fortune Cookie and Beverage. The cost is $6.00 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12. This year the Dollars for Scholars will award 13 scholarships totaling $14,000 for 2012 graduating seniors. Please come and support this great organization and stay after dinner and support the Bulldog Basketball Team!

SNO-FEST

This announcement is for the 6-12 grade students. First, a reminder that the week of February 13-17 is Sno-Fest week. There will be a future announcement regarding the week’s schedule. Sno-Fest falls under the same jurisdiction as other school activities with regards to grades, and therefore, the policy is the same for Sno-Fest activities as it is for basketball, wrestling, etc. Please see the handbook for the policy. Also, if you have absentee time to make up for the first semester or an outstanding detention, you will not be allowed to participate if that is not taken care of by Friday, February 10. One last note – your class dues must be paid.

Please make sure to take care of your responsibilities. Thank you.

things in common. They all have Juvenile(type 1) diabetes and like over a

million others with the disease want a cure to be found. It would be a dream

come true for all of them. They would have the freedom of no more finger

pokes, insulin injections, carb. counting, and worry of all the devastating

complications such as heart disease, kidney and nerve damage, and blindness.

JDRF is committed to finding a Cure for the sake of both children and adults.

Prairie Archers Sweethearts dinner

Prairie Archers will be hosting a February “Sweethearts” dinner at the Dodge House in Lester Prairie Saturday, Feb. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m.

The prime rib dinner costs $16 and includes baked potato, tossed salad, dessert, and coffee or milk.

Reservations need to be made by Thursday, Feb. 9 before 8 p.m., and be called in to (320) 395-2877 or (320) 395-2721.

No walk-ins are allowed, and the number of meals available is limited.

For non-rib lovers, a 12 oz smoked pork chop is available for $10.

Lighting project begins in Lester Prairie

LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – After months of planning and fundraising, the Bulldog Field lighting restoration project in Lester Prairie began last week. The project involves replacing the lights with brighter modern lights and renovation of the existing poles.
