Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson announces retirement at the end of this term

CARVER COUNTY, MN – Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson issued the following statement today, Feb. 6: “I have decided to retire at the end of this term and will not be seeking re-election as sheriff of Carver County. I started my law enforcement career with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office in April of 1987. I was elected as Sheriff of Carver County in November of 2010, and sworn in as Sheriff in January of 2011. It has been a privilege to serve the people of Carver County for 31 years and an honor to serve two terms as Sheriff. This has been a difficult decision for me as I love what I do. I believe Carver County is the best place in the state to work, and will greatly miss all the people I have met and worked with over the years. I am not positive what my future holds, but I know it will involve grandkids, some traveling, a fishing pole, and a few projects I haven’t been able to get to around the house.”
