CARVER COUNTY, MN – Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson invites concerned citizens to attend a Level III Predatory Offender Notification Meeting Thursday, Feb. 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. at The Pavilion, 21 Main Street East, Norwood Young America. This meeting is being held pursuant to Minnesota Statute §244.052 and will provide information about Jeremy Shane Zimmerman, a Level III registrant subject to public notification.
Zimmerman will be moving to Norwood Young America on or about Feb. 20, 2018. Zimmerman has served the sentence imposed on him by the court and is transitioning into the community.
Community Notification for Level III Offenders allows for park and recreation centers, schools, churches, and daycare facilities, as well as the entire community, to receive factual information about the offender. The intention is to promote public safety through sharing relevant information to community members and to increase public safety awareness. This information will aid citizens in educating their family members regarding their own personal safety. Sheriff’s deputies will provide information about this specific offender, but also include additional crime prevention information at the meeting.
Representatives from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office and MN Department of Corrections will be available to share information and respond to questions related to public safety.
