McLEOD COUNTY, MN – McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann announced today McLeod County, in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources – Forestry Division, has made the decision to lift the burning restrictions that were issued earlier this week. He noted it is important to remember burning permits are still required for most burning. The permits can be picked up from local township officials or fire wardens. Before burning, residents are asked to call the McLeod County Sheriffs Office so so the department knows the fire is a controlled burn and does not have to page out the fire departments. Also, when finished burning, residents are asked to contact the sheriff’s office so their address can be taken off of the burning list.
