DELANO — Delano got off and running in the Section 5-3A playoffs with a 72-49 home win over Zimmerman Tuesday night at the Tiger Activity Center.

“It feels good,” Delano senior Jack Balsiger said of the playoff win.

Balsiger felt good himself on the court. He finished with a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling in 11 rebounds for the Tigers.

“That was just how the ball bounced today,” he said. “My teammates got me open and found me the ball, and I was scoring off them.”

The quarterfinal win advanced the top-seeded Tigers on to the semifinals Friday night at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Delano (23-4) plays No. 4 Rocori (13-14) at 6 p.m.
