LITCHFIELD – In what DC coach Brian Bessingpas called a “tremendous meet” for his teams, the boys finished eighth out of 18 teams, and the girls 10th at the Litchfield Invitational Thursday.
Ben Zobel led the boys with the 10th-fastest time in school history (17:33), and freshman Juan Severson broke 18:00 for the first time (17:50), running the 14th-fastest time in DCHS history.
The girls were led by Lydia Niemela, who finished in 30th place with a time of 20:55. All six of the girls improved their times for the meet, including Jennah Keith who stepped in at the last minute to beat her personal best by over two minutes.
The middle school boys team won the team championship, their fourth win of the season. Benny Seefeldt finished in first place, his fourth consecutive first-place finish.
