NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA, MN – A benefit for the young son of James and Ellen Dreier of Norwood Young America is set for Friday, July 10, the Norwood Young America Times reported.

Lucas, 3, suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor-Associated Periodic Syndrome (TRAPS). It is a condition that causes high fevers, joint pain, headaches, rashes and swelling around the eye. Without treatment, TRAPS can eventually cause kidney and other major organ failure.

The benefit will be at the Crossroads Restaurant. Admission for the event is $5, and the local Lions will serve a steak dinner for $10. A silent auction will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. All proceeds will go to the family.

The bands Bender, Black Water Alley and Trick Daisy will provide entertainment beginning at 8 p.m., and the Miller Girls and Plasma Girls will make appearances during the evening.
