WRIGHT, MCLEOD COUNTIES, MN – For residents who recently moved, voter registration can be made by mail ahead of time through Tuesday, Oct. 14, or may be done election day by bringing a current utility bill dated within 30 days of the election, along with a picture ID, in order to establish residency.
To pre-register before Oct. 14, residents must send a request to the county auditor in their respective county or do so online at the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office at www.sos.state.mn.us.

ST. PAUL MN – Local and national elections prompt many citizens to
express their opinions, but the Minnesota Department of Transportation
warns campaign managers that placing signs in highway rights-of-way is
illegal.
State law prohibiting signs in the rights-of-way includes those along state highways, county roads, township roads and city streets.

Harvest dinner at St. John’s Sunday

WINSTED, MN – St. John’s Lutheran Church, Winsted will host its annual fall harvest dinner Sunday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.
The menu includes pork chops, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, baked beans, and dessert.
A polka worship service at 10 a.m. will be conducted by the Polka Sons of Praise.
Adult take-outs will be in the building behind the church.

MEA bash for youth will be Oct. 17 in Glencoe

GLENCOE, MN – Wondering how your middle and high school students will stay busy during MEA?
The Tobacco Free Youth (TFY) Crew will host a MEA bash Friday, Oct. 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will take place at the Panther Field House at the GSL High School in Glencoe, and all students in grades 6-12 from McLeod County are encouraged to attend.
Free bus/van transportation will be provided from McLeod West, Brownton Campus, Hutchinson High School main entrance, and Lester Prairie High School east side.
