HOWARD LAKE – The City of Howard Lake will be flushing fire hydrants to remove mineral deposits and ensure hydrants are working properly Wednesday, May 16 to Friday, May 18. During this time, water may become discolored and water pressure may drop. The water is safe to drink but may stain fabrics if clothes are washed during flushing. The city recommends not washing white or light-colored clothes during this time.
WINSTED – St John’s Lutheran Church, Winsted will host a community meal Thursday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m.
The meal is free, but donations are accepted. This will be a complete meal with a main dish, sides, dessert, and beverages. All are welcome, as this is intended as a community fellowship opportunity.

HOWARD LAKE, WAVERLY, WINSTED – The newly formed HLWW Theatre Arts Boosters will conduct auditions for their summer production of “Man of LaMancha” Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the HLWW High School choir room. Participants are asked to prepare a short song to sing as a solo. Performances will be the first and second weekend in July. HOWARD LAKE – St. James Lutheran School, 1000 6th Ave. in Howard Lake, will host a pork chop dinner Sunday, May 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Menu includes Pork chops, scalloped potatoes, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, dessert, and beverages. A freewill offering will be accepted to support the youth group attending a national youth gathering.
