HOWARD LAKE – Youth from St. John’s Lutheran in Howard Lake will host a series of Lenten suppers at the church from Feb. 14 to March 21. Meal will be served from 5 to 6:15 p.m. A freewill offering will be accepted to support a youth mission trip in June. There will be a Lenten service at 6:30 p.m. focusing on the Lord’s Prayer. All are welcome.

WINSTED, HOWARD LAKE, WAVERLY – Parents and their children are welcome to visit Winsted elementary during their kindergarten festival to enroll children for 2018-19. Attendees will be able to meet staff, visit the classroom, participate in child-friendly activities, finalize registration paperwork, and ask questions.

Attendees should bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate, proof of their child’s early childhood screening if their child was not screened in the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted School District, and a copy of their child’s immunization record.
WAVERLY – A pancake breakfast is set for Sunday, March 18 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the KC Hall, 301 5th St. N. in Waverly. Menu includes regular or blueberry pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage links or patties, and a beverage. Freewill offering accepted. Proceeds will go toward scholarships.
LESTER PRAIRIE – A community sandwich-making project is planned for 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie. This is an outreach to inner city homeless. Volunteers and donations are needed. For more information call (320) 395-2780. Donations may be dropped at First Community Bank, Lester Prairie.
LESTER PRAIRIE – Bethel Lutheran Church, 77 Lincoln Ave. N. in Lester Prairie will host a luncheon and concert Sunday, March 11. A buffet featuring pulled pork sandwich with a variety of salads will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a concert at 1 p.m. featuring the Mid-Minnesota Concert Band including music from many eras. Tickets are $7, available at the door.
WINSTED – Knights of Columbus Council 8253 will host a fish fry Friday, March 9 at the Blue Note Ballroom in Winsted, 3 to 7 p.m. drive-through; 3 to 7 p.m. or until gone dine-in. Adult tickets are $12 in advance, $13 at the door. Children age 6 to 10 are $6. Tickets available at Winsted businesses or from Council 8253 members.
