GIRLS BASKETBALL: First round Sub-Section #20 at home with Kimball on Thursday, March 5; tipoff is 7:00.
WRESTLING: Congratulations to John Long for qualifying for the state wrestling tournament on Wednesday through Saturday in St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center.
TRACK & FIELD: “There will be a meeting for all boys and girls in grades 9-12 interested in going out for track on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 a.m. in Mr. Moravec’s room.”
VARSITY GOLF: Boys and girls golf meeting after school at 2:40 in the commons (high school) on Wednesday March 4th. Be there!!! Hoeg
SOFTBALL: Practice will begin on Monday, March 9th. Any girls in grades 9 – 12 interested in playing should meet in the Middle School at 4:30 in the Commons. You need to bring your glove and be dressed in your practice clothes.
BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: There will be open gym at the middle school on Sundays starting on Sunday, March 8th from 1-2:30 p.m. Anyone who will participate in baseball or softball is welcome!
TRAVELING BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: Sign-up will be held Monday, March 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 in the Middle School Common’s. (For teams ages 10 – 16)

STUDENTS: Sign up for the wrestling bus to the State Tournament on Thursday. Cost of the ride is $3.00 and we need a note from your parents. Bus will leave at 4:00. You will need to buy your $8.00 ticket at the door.
NHS: NHS welcome breakfast, Friday morning, 7:15 in Mrs. Wilson’s room. NHS member, please sign up with Katie Pettit for something to bring for the breakfast (new members do NOT need to sign up). Those NHS students going on the ski trip should get their final payment into Mr. Smith ASAP.
STUDENTS: Please park your snowmobiles south of the Staff Parking lot on the island.
MURDER MYSTERY: Ticket sales for the Murder Mystery performance of Murder’s in the Heir by Billy St. John on March 7th and 8th will go on sale before school at 7:30am and also during the lunch hour. Tickets will be sold Friday the 27th through Wednesday the 4th. Reservations for the dinner performance must be made before Wednesday the 4th. Ticket prices are $15.00 for dinner and the show. Dinner includes Prime Rib and baked potato with steamed vegetables. Cost of tickets for the show only on Saturday the 7th at 7:00pm or Sunday the 8th at 2:00pm is $4.00. Show only tickets can be picked up the day of the show. However, dinner reservations must be made by Wednesday the 4th – they can be paid for the day of the show. Contact any drama student for more information.
SENIORS: Application forms for all the local scholarships are available. This includes all the Memorial Scholarships, Legion, Lions, Masonic Lodge, and the health care scholarships. Seniors can pick up the forms from Kathleen in the Media Center. Completed forms and all Letters of Recommendation are due by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 1st.

HLWW schools close at noon today

HLWW schools will close at noon today (Feb. 26), due to a winter storm warning that is in effect until midnight tonight. Snofall rates may be as high as an inch or two an hour, according to WCCO. Accumulations of 6 to 9 inches are likely across the area by this evening. In addition, north winds will increase to 20 to 25 mph by late this afternoon and continue for much of tonight causing blowing and drifting snow.
