Apartment fire in Loretto kept 8 departments busy

LORETTO, MN – A large structure fire kept at least eight area fire departments busy in Loretto today (Tuesday, Dec. 15). As of 2:10 p.m., the fire was estimated to be 75 percent under control.
Numerous departments assisted the Loretto Fire Department in dousing an apartment fire located on Medina Street. It is located kitty corner from the post office. Hennepin County Road 19 in Loretto was blocked to through traffic.
Several families have been displaced. The Red Cross and Salvation Army were on the scene. Donations for fire victims are being accepted at 21st Century Bank in Loretto, 699 North Medina St., Loretto MN 55357.
