Paul Beckermann of Cokato endured the cold Wednesday night (Feb. 27) to take shots of the lunar eclipse. The next eclipse of the moon will be Dec. 21, 2010. The picture at left was taken around 9:05 p.m. The second photo was taken a bit later.

Excellent photos!
Is this newsworthy?? Two little pictures? I am sure hundreds of people took pictures of the eclipse. Why is Paul on the front page of the website for doing it?
We are lucky and honored to have a local photographer who was willing to submit these beautiful pictures. It actually requires a tripod to take shots like this, with a very slow exposure (no flash, of course). I, myself, froze my bottom off that night, fighting with the light meter on my Olympus, atop a tripod. My pictures stunk. Thank you, Paul, for awesome pictures. You are talented.
Attaboy Mr. B! Great pictures
