MINNESOTA – A new opportunity for Minnesota 4-H members, “4-H Ag & Hort Afternoon Adventures!” begins soon. The kick off is slated to take place Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the comfort of people’s homes.
The 4-H Ag & Hort Afternoon Adventure series will provide a new topic each month, September through May. Participants will be encouraged to “dig deeper” in the featured topic area. At the beginning of each month, a live Zoom session will take place to learn about that month’s topic, and to ask questions. After participating in the Zoom experience, self-directed learning information will be made available. The information will include that month’s challenge for attendees and their families to do together.
The series design should excite attendees about giving back to their communities. People will gain knowledge and resources to create a community garden in the spring. Keep in mind, community gardens can be planted in the ground, raised garden beds, or even buckets! How the garden looks is completely up to participants, friends, or neighbors.
Register in advance for the first session, Fruits and Vegetables, Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 4 p.m. A confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar will be sent. (Click here to register: https://umn.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_QXLFAODiSd65-KNpp-kF2Q)
