WAVERLY, MN – A special Waverly City Council meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today at the Waverly city office.
Items on the agenda include an interim use permit application from Rippie Properties, a 2011 audit report, a fund balance policy sample, and other business.

Special Olympics seeking volunteers

Special Olympics Minnesota is currently seeking volunteers to help at the 2012 Regional Basketball Competition.
The competition will take place Sunday, March 11 at Monticello High School.
Volunteer opportunities include: refereeing, scorekeeping, awards, registration, lunch service, and more.
Volunteers may sign up for more than one shift and are asked to rank their preferences on the sign-up sheet.
Positions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age, and all volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt.

Crow River Soccer registrations

Crow River Soccer is taking registrations for U9 teams and up summer travel soccer (ages 8-17).
Visit www.crowriversoccer.com for the online registration link. Practices begin in March.
The cost is $100 for U9 and U10 teams, and $200 for U11 and up teams.
There will be a $50 late charge for registrations after Thursday, March 1.
There is also rec soccer for U4 through U8 for $60, with registration before Sunday, April 1.
