Do you remember the Holy Trinity grade school in Winsted?

htWINSTED, MN – A hundred years of sweet memories will be kept, even after the old grade school at Holy Trinity is torn down.  A number of Holy Trinity families like the Littfins have had four generations attend school there in preparation for high school.
The following are some memories of former students who attended Holy Trinity grade school in the old building:

Jack Littfin remembers as a  sixth grader, climbing into the attic of the grade school.
“We weren’t supposed to go up there, but if you would go up through the attic, you could climb up a ladder to an observation platform, and look out of the cupola and see the whole town. You could see for miles,” he said. Read more

There will not be school on Friday, April 2 and Monday, April 5. Happy Easter!

Cookie Dough will be delivered to the cafeteria this afternoon. Please pick it up after school.

The Girls and Boys Basketball banquet will be held on Sunday, April 11.

Please park all bikes in the bike racks by the doors. Do not park bikes on the sidewalks. Thank you!

Any students in grades 9-12 who may need to complete summer school: The Crow River Area Learning Center

in Hutchinson has opened summer school registration. Registration will be open from March 15-May 28 for

both summer sessions. Please see Mrs. Mattson as soon as possible to receive information/application.

Students in grades 11 and 12 who registered for online classes need to turn in their permission forms to Mr.

McNulty or Mrs. Mattson by Thursday, April 1st. Thank you!

LPHT sports photos are now available for viewing on the LP school website. Look under Activities & Athletics

and choose photos. The photos are currently not able to be viewed in the LP School building due to technical

challenges.

Students in grades 9-12 will be going to GSL School in Glencoe on Tuesday, April 6 to hear a presentation by

Dr. Victor DeNoble. The bus will leave at 1:05 and return by 3:00.

All students in grades 6-11 who want to register for the zero hour fitness class for the 2010-2011 school year,

sign up in the office by April 1st.

Juniors and Seniors: The cost of the Prom Banquet at the Science Museum is $50 per person. This includes

dinner, your admission to the Science Museum, and an Omni Movie. The cost of the After Prom Party is

$20.00.

Prom Registration will be during lunch, Monday, March 29th-Thursday, April 1st. Please remember to bring

photos for the Prom video to registration. (Remember 3-5 photos of yourself, see the prom letter for more

information.) These pictures can be on a CD or printed.

The After Prom Party Committee will meet on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:30 p.m. We will be meeting on the

stage as this will be a working and assembly type meeting. All sophomore, junior and senior parents are invited

to attend. Thank You!

Aubony Bridal of Hutchinson has made a nice donation to the After Prom Party AND will donate $5.00 extra

for every dress purchase and/or tux rental. Coupons for this will be mailed with your invitation and registration

forms. Extra coupons are also in the high school office. Guys: Aubony will also pick up your tux at the high

school on Monday, after Prom. Thank you Aubony Bridal of Hutchinson!!

The Lester Prairie Sportsman Club will be having a firearms safety class on Monday and Tuesdays from April 5

through May 4. The classes will be held from 7:00-9:00. Please call Gary Godel at 320-395-2561 to register.

Dr. Victor DeNoble will do a presentation about the dark side of addiction and the tobacco industry on Tuesday,

April 6 at 7:00 pm at the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to

the public. For more information please contact Jean at 320-864-1376. This event is sponsored by MEADA

Coalition of McLeod County, United Way of McLeod County and the Herald Journal.

Support those in need . . . Donate food to the McLeod County Emergency Food Shelf. The need for emergency

food provisions is growing. Please assist those in need by making a donation today. The drive will run from

March 1 through March 31 and is sponsored by the Lester Prairie Business Assn. The donation box is in the

high school lobby.

Please continue to collect Box Tops for Education and watch the expiration dates. There are tops that will

expire on 6/1/10 so those will have to be submitted before they expire. One more mailing will be done before

then so those funds aren’t lost.

No students are allowed unsupervised in the library at any time!

Reminder: If you aren’t out for an activity or staying with a staff member to take a test or work on school work

~ you should not be in the building or you need to wait for your ride in the main lobby area.

The fingerprint date for kindergarten and 6th grade students as well as students new to the district in grades 1-5

is Monday, April 12.

Ridgewater College will be having their 2010 Summer Camp in Hutchinson from July 19-22 and in Willmar

July 26-29. The camp will run from 9:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m. everyday. See Mrs. Mattson if you are interested in

attending.
