Girl Scout lemon cookie recall doesn’t include Winsted batches

WINSTED, MN — A voluntary recall of lemon chalet creme Girl Scout cookies from its makers does not impact cookies sold by Winsted Girl Scouts, according to the local Girl Scout troop.
The lemon chalet creme cookies, manufactured by Little Brownie Bakers, are still safe to eat, but being recalled because of customer complaints over taste and smell, according to the official Girl Scouts web site. It does not affect any other cookie, and the cookies do not contain any bacteria. The number of lots that are affected represent approximately 6.5 percent of the total number of lemon cookies. The Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity Bulldogs boys basketball team is the top seed in the Section 2A, North Sub-section playoffs.
LP/HT will open up section play Tuesday, March 9, at Lester Prairie, against either Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City or LeCenter.

The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers girls basketball team finished off a perfect 14-0 season in the Central Minnesota Conference Friday with a 71-63 win over Holdingford.
In other girls basketball action, the Watertown-Mayer Royals topped Delano 68-49.
In boys basketball action, the Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity Bulldogs fell to Maranatha Christian 73-53 in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association tournament championship, while Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted was beaten by Big Lake 57-47 in non-conference play.
Hal Kimball of Cokato is endorsed by DFL for District 18 seat

COKATO, MN — Hal Kimball of Cokato received the DFL endorsement for State Senate District 18, which is being vacated by Steve Dille (R-Dassel), who is retiring.
Kimball served 11 years in the Army, and received his degree at St. Cloud State University. Read more
