The Lester Prairie Police Department was among the many agencies from across the area that stepped forward to help when the I-35W bridge collapsed last Aug.1.
Lester Prairie assisted the Minneapolis Police Department during the crisis by sending Officer Brenda Conzet to Minneapolis to help with security at the scene for two days.
Last week, Conzet received a plaque from Minneapolis Police Chief Timothy Dolan.
The plaque was a 35W Bridge Collapse Service Award, presented for her “contributions and dedicated service to the City of Minneapolis and its citizens during this massive tragedy.”
“This is quite an honor. We are lucky to get this,” Lester Prairie Police Chief Bob Carlson commented.
