Three months away before Winsted moves

Special tags for Mr. McCarty’s class

kidshlww.jpgStudents in Mr. William McCarty’s fourth grade art class recently made special tags for their own lockers at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.  There were a lot of creative and unique ideas brought out by the kids, who enjoyed decorating their lockers in their own ways.  Parents are always invited to stop in and see student art work in the schools; you can call building principals to find out a good time to visit.

Time to move out of FEMA trailers

HLWW to host dinner theater, murder-mystery play

hlwwplayblogpic.jpgAn audience-interactive “who dunnit” dinner theater murder/mystery production titled “Three Doors to Death,” will take place Saturday, March 8 at the new Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School Auditorium.
“The audience will have a voice in the outcome of the play,” said Susan Kubasch of the HLWW Drama Boosters.
It is a story about who killed an unpopular fellow named Gordon Forrest who was mysteriously murdered during a rehearsal of an old British thriller, “Three Doors to Death.” Continue reading ‘HLWW to host dinner theater, murder-mystery play’

Our legislators in HJ area didn’t cave

Republican legislators and two DFLers have been under intense pressure to override the governor’s veto of the transportation bill recently. Six Republicans caved, but fortunately they weren’t from this area. State Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Grove City was indirectly threatened that his bill to expand Litchfield’s wastewater treatment plant would go nowhere if he didn’t vote to override the governnor.
